OUR VINEYARDS

Our vineyards are located in different municipalities in the Penedès region: Subirats, Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, Sant Martí Sarroca, Torrelles de Foix and Font-rubí. In total, 55 hectares where 14 grape varieties are grown. All our vineyards are cultivated following the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture, as part of our commitment to sustainability and respect for the environment.

ORGANIC AND BIODYNAMIC VINEYARDS

Organic agriculture is a production system that respects the health of the soil and the local ecosystems. It avoids the use of synthetic chemicals, such as pesticides and fertilizers, in support of natural methods that preserve biodiversity. This practice allows our vineyards to produce grapes of the highest quality, full of flavor and personality. 

All of them are certified by CCPAE and DEMETER.

Biodynamic agriculture goes a step further than the organic one. It is a holistic philosophy that considers the vineyard as a complete organism, where all its elements are interconnected.

We follow the moon calendar when carrying out agricultural and winemaking tasks. We also apply biodynamic preparations and organic compost to nourish and strengthen the soil, thus enhancing the vitality of our vineyards while enriching their biodiversity and those of their surroundings.

These practices allow us to produce wines and cavas that faithfully express the terroir and the personality of our land.

OUR ESTATES

OLIVER VITICULTORS is located in the Penedès wine region, just 30 km south from Barcelona. The area is delimited by the Mediterranean coast east and the Montserrat mountains north. Due to this geography it is given the typical Mediterranean climate: mild winters whereas dry and hot summers.

CAL XIC DE L’AGUSTÍ ESTATE

 

The cellar is found in the middle of this estate, surrounded by vineyards.

It is located in the Central Penedès, at an altitude of 220 m above sea level. Its soils are mainly clayey loam and calcareous. The Mediterranean Sea, which is about 15 km away in a straight line, gives a clear influence on the fruit of our vineyards since the entire ripening process is accompanied by the sea breeze that balances the temperature on summer afternoons.

The estate consists of 40 hectares of vineyards and there are grown the following grape varieties: Xarel·lo, Macabeu, Parellada, Chardonnay, Malvasia de Sitges, Muscat de Frontignan, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewüstraminer, Merlot, Ull de Llebre, Syrah, Grenache Black and Sumoll.

CAL PAU PIU ESTATE

 

It is located in the Deeper Penedès, at altitudes ranging from 300 m to 390 m above sea level. In this area we find deeper soils, with calcareous composition and some stony areas.

In terms of climate, winter tends to be a bit colder since it is further away from the sea. Moreover, during the summer the vineyards also get a cooler climate due to the higher altitude and the influence of La Llacuna mountains.

The estate consists of 15 hectares of vineyards where the following grape varieties are grown: Xarel·lo, Macabeu, Parellada and Pinot Noir.

The characteristics of the soil determine which is the most suitable variety to cultivate in each area, in order to show their best expression.
